I have been the commentator for The Harewood House Father Day Classic Car Show since 2006.(reference) Last years show set a new record of over 1000 car entries and 300 motorcycles. The show is combined with a Motor Show sponsored by the Yorkshire Post Newspaper. I have had a life long interest in both Classic Cars and Motorcycles and had my first motorcycle, a Triumph Tiger Cub, at just 16. My father bought it for me for £5-00 and it came in several boxes. With my fathers tools and advice it took me 7 weeks to complete the project and drive it on the road. This was followed by a 1958 Ariel Red Hunter, 1952 Norton Model 7, 1959 BSA Bonneville 650cc and a 1954 BSA M21. I also have a love of classic cars and have owned and restored the following : 1953 Austin A40, 1959 Vauxhall Cresta, 1960 Ford Popular,
1962 Mercedes 190, 1963 Lancia Fulvia, 1963 Mini Cooper, 1965 3
litre Rover Coupe, 1966 Triumph Spitfire and a 1968 Jaguar Mk11.
Because of this experience I can deliver a commentary packed with both accurate information and
amusing personal anecdotes.
